St.Xavier's Revo Garden

We will be launching our first Revo Garden project in Penang this coming October and St.Xavier's Institution will be the first to have this project in their school. The Re-Evolvers crew will be working together with St.Xavier's Christian Fellowship/Recess Revolution group for this project.

The CF/RR group will be starting the fund-raising in their school starting from 30th August onwards. You can also show your support by:
  1. Buy A Tree
  2. Buy A T-Shirt
  3. Be A Volunteer
  4. Support The Fund-Raising Projects
The estimated cost for the project is RM8000 and this will be funded entirely through fund-raising and sponsorship as this is an effort by the CF/RR to bless the school with a brand new garden. Should you wish to contribute to the Revo Garden project- be it in cash or in kind, kindly contact us at recessrevopg@gmail.com or 012-4888479. Thanks in advance!

*More updates about the fund-raising will be announced soon

Revo Garden

The "Revo Garden" Project is an initiative by Recess Revo students who will be carrying out this project in partnership with a recognized and proven youth development NGO called AYA (Asian Youth Ambassadors), who also facilitates the "Recess Revolution" movement nationwide.

The Significance of Revo Garden:

  1. Transformation
The new (or upgraded) Revo Garden would be transformed from a deserted place into a beautiful and vibrant garden. It signifies the students' desire to "transform" their school into a better place - not just socially but physically as well!

  2. Nurture
Like every other living thing, the Revo Garden needs to be cared for and nurtured by fertilizing, watering, etc. The RecessRevo students intend to "nurture" their school by "watering" it with their care, "sowing" their love in action with kindness and prayer so that their school can truly become a better place.

  3. Continuity
Once the Revo Garden is established, the students will have something physical to pass on to the next generation of students from the "Recess Revolution" movement to continue to care for and nurture. It is for them to tell the next generation, "Now, this is YOUR garden. Take care of it." It symbolizes the passing on of ownership (of the school) to the juniors, so that they too can catch the spirit of loving and caring for their school. It speaks of continuity, and that we are in for the "long haul." Change is a process and we understand that it is more important how we finish than how we started.

  4. Movement
The Revo Garden is a "monument" that speaks of a "movement." A movement that stands for the "Revolution of Love" - a revolution that comes from and through love in action. To do so, students can continue enhancing the beauty of the garden by adding more features: flowers, fountain, fish (in a pond), etc. This is a movement that will carry on until they see the change we dream of in their school come to pass - at every level - for every person!

The desire to give the school a garden is not at the expense of the school's budget but as a gift from the students to the school. As such, many fund-raising will be done in order to raise funds. They include selling "Revo Garden" Project T-shirts to mark the day that students took a stand to do something for a CAUSE greater than themselves.

In many instances, students are known for their lack of care. However, Revo Garden is to show that there are "student revolutionaries" who are determined to make the difference in their schools. Through this, they long to set an example that when one chooses to bless their school and protect the very place that builds them a future, there is much joy and fulfillment.

Sharing Recess Revo in St.George's Girls' School & SMJK Chung Hwa Confucian High School

Just last week, we had the open door to go visit St.George's Girls' School and SMJK Chung Hwa Confucian High School to share about Recess Revo again. For SGGS, it was our first time visiting the school ground as we shared to a group of students in McDonalds last year who wanted to see a change in their school. Up to date, they have more than 10 people in their Recess Revo group praying and standing in the gap for their school. We get to share more about Recess Revo as not all of them heard about if before and we believe that they are excited to see more in their school!

We also had the open door to visit SMJK Chung Hwa Confucian High School again to share about Recess Revo to their new Christian Fellowship members. Both the leaders of the CF are excited to see a change taking place in their school and we believe many more testimonies will take place in this school. We thank God that both these schools have teacher advisers who are very supportive and they are praying together with them for their school! Praise God for that and we pray that the Revolution of Love will continue to spread in both these schools through all these young people!

Bus Affair!

This is a Campus Revo update from UTAR Kampar which just happened yesterday. They blessed 220 students in their campus with free bus rides! Read on for more:

Today 8 of us from the Campus Revo team in UTAR Kampar carried out what I call our ‘Bus Affair’. Basically what we did was give out free bus tickets to the students. We have a special UTAR bus which picks students to and fro the housing areas and campus at certain times throughout the day. Each trip costs one ticket which is RM 0.70. We decided to give out 2 tickets per student and also a bookmark. Why 2 tickets? Go there must come back also ma.

Each CR member was informed about the Bus Affair. Whoever who wants to contribute the bus tickets can do so. No limits, no minimum amount. Just like that, giving from the heart. Then, about 2 weeks back we compiled the tickets during meeting and I was shocked to see the number of tickets. We had 440 bus tickets and it was less than 15 people giving! It is amazing how God can provide. It is also because we have lecturers in our group who also contributed quite a lot. God really brought people bit by bit the weeks before.

So with 440 tickets we decided to give each student 2 tickets. The bookmarks were made. Each had a verse on it and on the back ‘A little gift for you’. Then this morning at 7am we gathered at the main bus stop. I admit initially we were all still in dreamland but after a while excitement, joy and happiness just took over. We spread out and gave the tickets and bookmarks. After a while the team got the hang of it and we extended out territory to 2 other bus stops.

The responses we got were hilarious. Some students just stared and ‘huh’, some just take say thank you then only realized that there are two bus tickets, some asked ‘why?’, some gave huge smiles, some refused to accept but most of them were just shocked and in a disbelief state. There was even one student who said he wants to keep the bookmark but doesn’t want the bus tickets. LOL. Many of them seemed to like the bookmark. We found one that was too engrossed with the bookmark that he/she dropped the bus tickets without realizing that.

Then even the bus driver helped us out. He realized what we were doing so he honked and pointed to let us know when there was another student coming so that they were not missed out. We had printed extra bookmarks so I decided to just give him one as well. He was smiling all the way when he drove off. We even waved to one or 2 buses as it drove off and a few of the students in it waved back smiling.

It was indeed a blessing to bless others. Not only were the students who received smiling but also the team. While giving some were really really excited that they could not wait for the students to reach them but went all the way up to them. We were all happy and just in a good mood after the whole thing was over even though we were lacking sleep. We all started our day with a blast. Even as a group we have gotten closer. Just by doing this we have also bonded with each other. Ice really broken. Looking forward to doing more for God together,

All glory goes to God. We believe that the 220 students today were blessed and touched by God. Not only them but I think the bus driver felt the love too. :)

Spreading the love of God in campus,
UTAR Kampar Campus Revo

Praying in front of the whole class for a sick friend!

This is such an encouraging testimony by the Recess Revo team in SMJK Heng Ee. We've heard real stories of cancer being healed through this group and right now, they are praying for healing for another friend who is sick. Be inspired by their boldness and what God is doing in this Buddhist school:

During Tuesday,me and my recess revo members went 4 prayer as usual. But there's one girl (who is not a Christian yet)joined us 4 prayer. She had a biological sickness, that means her whole family got the sickness.
So,when we prayed 4 her during dat time, she fainted. Some of the recess revo members rushed down the stairs 2 see the st.john members 4 help. I kinda panicked but i prayed 4 God 2 make me strong. So,i asked the present members 2 pray 4 the fainted girl. Miraculously, she woke up immediately after we pray 4 her.

But after dat day,she nvr joined us 4 prayer anymore and we r scared dat she will faint again. During Friday,we did smtg different. I asked the members 2 ask God 4 strength 1st,den we went down 2 the girl's class 2 pray 4 her.
When we went into her class, some of us freaked out bcoz there were so many ppl in the class. I spoke in tongues bcoz i was realy terrified... Den we started 2 pray 4 her,LOUDLY,in front of the whole class bcoz it was very noisy.. Evrybody started 2 look at us,wondering wat r we doing.. Dat's a gud thing, bcoz it quiet down a little...We finished prayer and went back 2 our class and do everyting as usual..

All Im trying 2 say is,whenever there is smtg we r scared 2 do,we shud ask God 4 strength and rely on it. We dun just nid 2 keep showing off we r Christian or we r a recess revotionary,we nid 2 make 'Show Up,Stand Up,Speak Up' these 3 words come 2 live. This recess revo team juz did Stand Up,i wish dat more schools will be on fire 4 Him and bcome real Christians..
Dats all 4 now...Bye..^^
