Lecturers & Staffs Appreciation Day by SEGi Revo

SEGi Revo Campus Revo group blessed all 94 lecturers and staffs in their campus with free breakfast! Here's the testimony:

Just 2 days ago on Wednesday, our SEGi Revo group decided to appreciate all the lecturers and staffs and bless all of them with free breakfast! We planned this back 3 weeks ago and thought about it as we used to celebrate Teachers' Day back when we were schooling but we never did any of that in our college life. So, we decided to come out with "Lecturers' Day." A day before the event, we print out notice to inform the lecturers and staffs that we're giving out free breakfast the next morning to appreciate them so they don't have to buy breakfast for themselves the next morning.

On Wednesday morning, we were the first ones in our campus at 7am and thanks to our teacher adviser, Ms.Lucia, we managed to get into the staff office earlier that usual. No one were in the campus yet except for the building caretaker. Once there, we set up what we were supposed to do. The plan was to prepare 3 stations for the lecturers and staffs as they walk into the office to punch in at 8am. First station was giving out sandwiches, second was giving out bookmarks and finally the third was giving out either coffee or Milo depending on their choice. :)

We brought 2 water boilers that morning and set up the place. Sharp at 8am, lecturers and staffs of our college start walking in and they were all surprised that we were there so early. We gave out a set of sandwich, bookmark and coffee/Milo just to appreciate them and many of them were happy to receive it. All 94 lecturers and staffs of the college managed to get their portion as they have to walk pass our stations before they can punch in for work. We ordered more than that so we went and gave the janitor and security guards too. I believe everyone of them were blessed by it! We also left the water boilers there the whole day so they can keep refilling coffee or Milo the whole day. :)

Ms.Lucia received many feedbacks and many of them were thankful for this. The lecturers said that it just freshens their day with what we did that morning. Another thing is also about the bookmark that we gave out, it had the verse from Jeremiah on it. At first, we inform our principal who is also a Christian about it and he asked us to be more sensitive when giving out to lecturers of other religions. So, we did inform lecturers of other religions that we just want to encourage them and they accepted it wholeheartedly. Later after that, we just gave it out without hesitating and some of them smiled after reading that verse. Praise God for that! :)

I'm thankful for my Campus Revo group for helping out and I believe that we will continue to impact our campus after this as we continue to love our campus until it loves Jesus back! Our God is BIG so let's not put Him in a box! :)

ATC Campus Revo organized "Tea Time With Lecturers"

ATC recently kick-started Campus Revo in their campus and they did something to appreciate their lecturers. Be blessed as you read this:

ATC PENANG CF kick started Campus Revo and launch it with the event of "Tea Time With The Lecturer" as wanted to bless all our lecturer for their dedication and hard work for all the student. We prepared decoration, pasta, tea, pizza, chocolate cake etc and the students were to serve the lecturer. We brought our own plates, saucer, cutlery, cups, flower vase etc because we wanna give the best as a good testimony.

Each student was also challenge to prepare a personal thank you card and to give a short speech to every single lecturer and that really shock them as they didn't expect it after all the makan!
The Team also wrote down the Recess Revo Penang blog for them to view what is RR/CR all about as they were really curious.

CR/CF also prepared food for all other college staff such as the admin, librarian, cleaner and security accompanied with appreciation note to show appreciation to them. One of the lecturer was so touch and said that no student has ever done this for their lecturer's ever before and really thank the team. Convent Bukit Mertajam RR Fed 450+ Students with Free Sandwiches!

We shared about Recess Revo to the girls last 2 Wednesdays ago and they are already bringing a Revolution to their school! Here's their latest testimony this week:

Hey all! This week was a very interesting week for our cf/ RR team here is why:

Monday
We came up with this idea to give out free sandwiches to the students and teachers (if possible) during our 'merentas desa' that was today. So, we prayed about it and decided to go for it. During recess, the form 4s told me that buying gardenia bread was easier as it saves time, money and energy. (we had to prepare at the very least 400 sandwiches) I was at first reluctant. But, it did make sense...perfect sense...if I were to add and I agreed to it, thinking that it was not a bad idea.

Tuesday
WE were discussing about the budget, where we were going to get 400 gardenia buns in like 4 days and that was when we met face to face with our first obstacle...budget problem. each bun was about 60 cents we only had a hundred ringgit. Then we reverted to ice creams and found the cheapest ice cream we could find. Then, we suddenly felt like cheapskates as we were looking at the money and were not doing it with our whole hearted effort. Thus, we reverted back to the sandwiches.

Wednesday
I went to meet Mr.Chin the coordinator for the event. he was very astonished at our generosity and gladly supported us. However, when he found out that it was not halal as we were making it at home, he began to worry and so did I (secretly) but I could not show him that part of me. I wanted to like "show" him that I knew what we were doing and explain to him that we could put up a huge sign saying NON HALAL! then only did he agree. It was a win win situation. or...so we thought....

Thursday
Early in the morning after morning prayer, Mr. chin told me to walk with him and I did. I knew inside of me something was not right. he broke the news to me. We could not do the sandwiches for the principal wanted everyone to have the same thing and she was concious if lets say the students were to share it with one another and by accident giving it to them (M). at first I thought that she was trying to dampen our spirits but then I realise that she wanted to protect us from the responsibilities that we were to bear if an accident were to happen with the non-halal issue. So, I went to tell the team about it. "What! We already bought the ingrediants! YOu serious?" yes, that was their reply. They were all in shock at what I had to say. I nodded my head. They told me to meet with the principal and explain to her that we already bought the ingrediants. So, off I went. She was very nice. She allowed us to use the cooking utensils in the school's cooking room as if we used ours it would make it non-halal. So I thanked her and ran as fast as I could to tell the others. when they found out about it they too were overjoyed! Praise the Lord! SEcond obstacle! Pass!

Friday
here was when i literally wanted to smACK my forehead...we did not plan the exact amount of ingrediants we were to bring. So in the end most of us had to buy extra stuffs...for this I would like to personally thank SInead, Fiona, and janyse for buying the extra ingrediants. So, we planned and just when we thought everything would go well...we were wrong again...

Saturday
The day we had all been waiting for arrived. 100 eggs! 15 cans of tuna! We were to make tuna and egg sandwiches but it turned out that we had more ingrediants than bread. What a catastrophe! we started smashing eggs, mixing the eggs with mayo, spreading, packing and stapling those packs...lightning speed. While we were doing that, the Form twos were helping stick the bookmarks that the form 4s so beautifully made onto...SATAY STICKS! Good job form twos and form 4s! Appreciate it lots! Due to the lack of bread, we had to go out and buy 3 more jumbo sized loaves. When me and Ann jill were at the stall...everyone doubt our mere act of kindness...thinking that there was something more to this than meets the eye...so I thought that no one was going to finish it and we had to take all of it home...but I was wrong...after we prayed a quick prayer...everyone took at least one sandwich and we gave them the bookmark...then some of them took 6 sandwiches saying that they would eat it during their tuition that was after the event. I was astonished and told Tiffany, "See how God works...amazing!"
In the end, everything was gone. There were no left overs. However...though the egg was finished...we had extra tuna cans and almost everyone was able to get a sandwich at least. but, we had extra bookmarks and so i passed it to the teachers. Then, a teacher (M) asked me what was recess revolution about..without thinking twice (or at all)...i answered her saying it was a programme done in cfs in schools. She then asked me what was the aim of this programme. I replied immediately saying it was to menunjukkan kindness...(smacks forehead...thank God my bahasa teacher was not around). I guess she was satisfies with the answer because she just nodded her head with a certain smile and as if on cue I too smiled and walked off. My heart was beating fast but I knew GOd was with me. Now here's the highlight of this whole thing;
During the prize giving ceremony the principal was to give her speech and it went something like this, " Saya amat berbangga dengan kelab cf yang telah melakukan khidmat sosial dan ini harus dicontohi oleh kelab-kelab yang lain." That sentence made me smile when i heard it from ann jill. my ears were shut at the other things that she wanted to say for I was happy with that sentence itself. we have been officially recognised by the principal and teachers in our school.

Plates Cleaning Project in KDU Penang!

On Friday, 7 people from KDU College Campus Revo gathered to serve the kitchen staff of the KDU cafeteria. This included the leader, Darren Teoh and the teacher advisor, Mr. Yap. Praise God for leaders and lecturers that are so willing-hearted to serve. They indeed deserve the portion of double honour God speaks about in 1 Tim 5:17!

This event was originally planned about two weeks in advance. At that time, we had
gathered for the weekly prayer meeting on Friday morning. God placed an impression on Darren to ask everyone to seek and ask Him on projects that could be carried out together. Among the projects that were brought up that Friday morning after praying and seeking were this one, to help the kitchen staff wash plates in the cafeteria. We are indeed honoured and encouraged on what God has impressed upon us to do. It's been as much a blessing to us as to those we were sent to.

As per usual, the whole event was prayed over and committed to our Loving Father. We
gathered at the cafeteria at 11 a.m. ready to literally dirty our hands. The cafeteria staff had been alerted beforehand and even had some dirty plates and cups for us. Divided into three pairs and one backup cum photographer, we started. Each pair had their own 'stations' in the 3 sinks to wash cups, plates and more plates respectively. It was not a very busy time as the lunch break had not even started. However, it proved to be a blessing as we could strike up conversations with the friendly staff.

Unsurprisingly, most asked the reason behind this labour of God's love. Although the Bible asks us to be prepared in and out season to reply, I must admit I, for one was not ready. Some of us, including me could not even speak fluent Hokkien. However, I can honestly say that this project helped each one of us see them as in a real people with real problems. The staff were very friendly, speaking of everything from the World Cup, the recent tragedy involving one of our college students and the life some of them had to leave behind, as some were from Indonesia. They even offerred us orang juice and lent us aprons.

At the end of the one hour, we adjourned. From the smiles on their face and the smile God is smiling, we ourselves are blessed. Doing this project really places a burden to keep going to make Jesus famous. Praise God!

Convent Bukit Mertajam First Recess Revo!

Convent Bukit Mertajam just started Recess Revo in their school after the day we shared to them and they have made an impact in their school! Check out their testimony!

Hey guys and gals!
My school just started RR and even on our first day we made a huge leap on the first day itself. We had a meeting on wed and the RR team was present and thus introducing us to the whole program. During that time, when we were praying, I somehow saw our Christian Fellowship (CF) morning prayer group praying in the front field of the school. I was like, woah! that would be so cool. Later I approached a few of the committee members and they agreed...some of them had the same vision too. We were like taken a back for a second then started squealing with excitement. (all girl school...it happens).

So, the next day, that was exactly what we did. The thing is the front field is obviously located in front of our school where the entrance to our school is. Therefore meaning that teachers from both primary and secondary will like notice our existence there. It was pretty awkward. But, I told them that at times we have to get out off our comfort zone and explore but of course based on what He tells us to do. So we prayed and this time each individual prayed. we prayed for our school, the students there and even for one of our members dog. It lost his way. Oh! BTW...that member is Fiona..she just came to know the Lord and today she told us that she found her dog when she went home after her society meet. Praise the Lord! Oh back to what else we did. WE also handed out drinks to the janitors, lab assistants and security guards of our school. They were shock and took it with never ending gratitude. It felt good to bless people. I was blessed by seeing them be blessed. I am sure my other friends feel the same way too.

Oh and this is the best part. We went to our principal to ask if she could let us where our RR badge you know like during our society days and she said yes without hesitating. My vice, Ann Jill told me to tell her about RR. But, I didn't I explained that I felt like it was to early. I also told her that what we have done though small is a big step for some of us. I wasn't discouraging her in fact I would have gladly told the principal about it. But, i knew that we had to look back to God for guidance. we have just begun and to me I think that they have done an amazing job. Please pray for our team here. We are one excited bunch of people and are learning to take one step at a time at doing this. Like the team said, anyone could do this program you know the doing good thing but what is different is that when we do it the power of God is with us and people will be impacted like never before. We are planning to give out free sandwiches during our merentas desa activity next week but are still thinking and praying about it. so join us in prayer and I will write in our next testimony soon. Please and thank you. Bye!

The Significance of Number 2!

Last Wednesday, we had the open door to share about Recess Revo to 4 different schools in Bukit Mertajam during a youth rally organized by their teacher, Ms.Ooi. As we were driving to Bukit Mertajam, Pr.Pragas told us that God dropped the number 2 in his heart as he was preparing to speak for this youth rally.

We didn't knew what was it but we prayed that it will be a fruitful meeting with all the school students. 2 schools that were there has already started Recess Revo and the 2 more schools have heard about it but we haven't met them before to explain to them. Praise God that we managed to share about Recess Revo to them as Pr.Pragas was asked to speak during the afternoon session. After the Recess Revo sharing, Pr.Pragas challenged them and we have 2 new schools that signed up for Recess Revo after the meeting. However, it did not end there. Pr.Pragas gave a salvation call and 2 students raised their hands to receive Jesus! God is truly amazing and the number 2 that God dropped in Pr.Pragas' heart came true. We thank God for this open door and we believe that the Revolution will continue to spread in the mainland!

PUSH (Praying Until Something Happen)

Here's an inspiring testimony from Alvin, our Recess Revo coordinator who keep going on with prayer and he saw the fruits of it. He PUSH(Prayed Until Something Happen)! Praise God for this testimony about the power of prayer:

It's been several weeks that my Revo team didn't do anything ever since Canteen Day Clean Up. my revo team wasn't really on Fire for God or Passionate . i always pray that i really want my revo team to be On Fire and do more to LOVE and BLESS the school. but also our Christian Society teacher doesn't have the fire+ he is really busy and he don't attend to prayer meeting anymore even the revo member doesn't attend except me . Although i'm alone praying i always pray that God will lead my revo team to do more! and make them on Fire!

Till today! i pray until kinda long lol. Our school have a new Christian Teacher that she would be leading our Christian Society then i went to find her today and bless her with the "Recess Revo" Notebook. Amazing i went to chat with her about Recess Revo but before that she was talking to me about planning the Christian Society activites. and then suddenly that she said she wan students to make something to bless the school! wow? i never talk about revo but she said she wan us to do something to bless the school and love the school! i was so happy for it ! Thank God for this teacher who just came.! Amazing! so after that she say she will discuss with me about Revo on Wednesday and see what we could do =D ! Praise God ! for her! and she told me that she don't even know why she is in this school ! i believe this is God answering my Prayer! =D PRAISE GOD ! ALL GLORY GOES TO HIM!

Ipoh Meeting Updates

I visited UTAR Campus 2 weeks ago together with Ming Chen, a Sunway College Campus Revo member who’s on his break. We had the open door to meet up with UTAR’s lecturer, Miss Chua Ee Chiet to share about Campus Revo. She also invited Miss Kam Wai Wan and Miss Chan Wan Ling who are all Christian lecturers to join this meeting. The CF teacher adviser wasn’t able to make it so I went ahead with the meeting to share with the three lecturers about Campus Revo and what God is doing in campuses all around Malaysia. After about an hour of sharing, the three lecturers were so excited and they decided to start Campus Revo by meeting up together for prayer. I have also invited Melody, one of my youth from Penang who is currently studying in UTAR to join them.

The lecturers were so inspired by the work of God in other campuses and schools in Malaysia. They begin to see a purpose to start this prayer group. After the sharing, we went out for lunch together for fellowship and as we were talking, I found out that the highest problem in UTAR Campus is that the students are very open in the sexual area. One of the lecturers said that the most demanded items in the town of Kampar are condoms. That saddens my heart and I see that many young people in UTAR campus truly need Jesus in their lives. We then head back to Miss Chua’s office room after lunch. We prayed together that God will use their Campus Revo group to bring a change in the lives of the students in the campus and they will live for a purpose with God’s destiny.

It was truly a fruitful meeting for me to be able to meet up with these lecturers who are so passionate for God and I want to see a positive change in the campus! They have officially started praying last week in UTAR and I pray that many young people in that campus will be changed through Campus Revolution. Just want to give all Glory to God for this great opportunity that God has given to me!

SMK Georgetown Recess Revo!

Here are two amazing testimonies from SMK Georgetown Recess Revo group. A new soul got saved and they are blessing students to go for their school fundraising dinner. Check them out:

Hey! :D Penang Penang Penang :) Anyway, will get straight to the point.

There's this guy who's in my Recess Revo group who isn't a Christian, but he's interested in RR and all. So as I was walking by his class today, he called me, and told me that he accepted Christ! Glory to God! :D He can now get involved with prayer and all! :)
Really thank God for his miracles. Slowly, we're growing! :)

Event date: 23rd June 2010

Hello! :D greetings from GSS :)

Before i go on, let me explain this. My school's having a dinner for the PIBG and everyone from my school's invited to go for the dinner, which is on 10th of July. And this dinner is something like a fundraiser to raise funds for the PIBG and buy new things for the school. One ticket costs a minimum RM50 because it seems that big plans are around. :O It goes up to more than RM1000, so yeah. lol.

For our project this time (our first real project xD), me and my very few members of RR decided to collect at least RM20 from each person in our group. It was our teacher's idea to collect money because she says if we pay rm20, she'll pay the rest for the RM50 ticket. And altogether we were able to collect RM100. For every RM20, one student will be able to go for the dinner :) And with Rm100, 5 students are able to go!

So with this, we just hope that the school and the student's themselves will feel blessed :D
