Updates: Wildfire@RR P.A.R.T.Y

Wildfire@RR P.A.R.T.Y took place on the 22nd August at Methodist Boys School and it was a blast! We saw around 260+ youths, pastors and teachers advisers who came for this event to witness what God is doing in Penang. Although there was a heavy downpour on that morning, many people still turned up and we thank God for all who came for this event. We also want to thank the team of 13 people who came all the way from Alor Setar to see what God is doing in Penang and we pray that they will catch hold of the fire. We believe that God is going to shake not only Penang, but in Malaysia as well.

The event started with In-Tune leading in the time of praising God and our Revo speaker for that day was Pr.Sam Surendran. He shared about CSI- Channel, Size & Interdependence and that God is raising up another generation which are the teachers and pastors to support the young people in Recess Revolution.
Next up, STORM took the stage with an inspiring dance performance followed by a mime performance by St.George's Girls' School. It was recess time after that and everybody were blessed with free food and drinks. Point Of Difference then performed 2 songs after the interval and the talk-show was next up. 17 students from different schools were up on stage to share about what God is doing in their schools and many people were blessed by their testimonies. Overall, everything went well and we want to thank God for making this event possible. We believe many more will come after this and it's gonna be bigger!

The Re-EVOLve crew would also like to thank all the youths, pastors & teachers who came for this event and not forgetting all the wonderful helpers who helped out for this event. God bless all of you and let's continue to revolutionize this island for Jesus.

Recess Revo Updates #5

It has been 2 great weeks for us and we had the opportunity to share about Recess Revo in Alor Setar. We definitely want to see the young people there catch the fire as well and the good news is that some of them will be coming down for the Wildfire@RR P.A.R.T.Y this coming Saturday.
Last 2 weekends, we were at the Klang Recess Revo Gathering and it's great to see all the amazing things that God is doing over there. Indeed, many more people are catching the fire and it has even spread to Sabah right now. Praise God for that!

This is the generation that will begin the revolution and I believe there are many more to come. Trials and triumphs will come on the way but victory is on our side. Pr.Andy once said, "The greater the test, the greater the testimony. The greater the trial, the greater the triumph."
We have to stay close and connected to God. Psalm 46:10-11 says, "Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
We all know this verse but how much do we really understand it? For example, if you're a great fan of Manchester United and you watched the live match between Manchester United and Chelsea last weekend. You will be so excited and jumping around whenever they had a chance to score. At the end of the game, Man United lose on penalties and you will definitely be disappointed with them. You will be frustrated and blame the players whenever they miss a pass, free kick, penalty, etc. But if you watch the repeat of the match on TV the next day, you wouldn't be so excited as you are the day before because you already KNEW the result. You would probably just sit down and shake your head as they miss the penalties and lose the match.

We have to be STILL and KNOW that He is God. If we can do that, we wouldn't be disappointed or discouraged when we have to pray alone or when you have to do things alone because we KNOW that the LORD Almighty is with us. We are not alone and Psalm 46:10 also says, "I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." That's the result and God wants you to KNOW it.
Whatever you are doing now, God is with you and He will be exalted among the nations and in the earth if you will be STILL and KNOW that He is God. Do not give up because you all are the young heroes and heroins of this nation!

Wildfire@RR P.A.R.T.Y is finally here and it's happening this coming Saturday on the 22nd August 2009 at Methodist Boys School. The party will be from 9am to 12.30pm and we have many exciting programme such as performances from POD band, STORM hip hop dance crew and a special performance from St.George's Girls' School. In-Tune will also be taking the stage for worship and one of the Revo speaker, Pr.Sam Surendran will be speaking on that day as well. The highlight of the party will be a talk-show where all the 22 schools representatives will come together and share what God is doing in their respective school.
We also have merchandises on sale only for that day! There will be limited badges, ACTSPERIMENT 2.0, Found In Christ which is written by Pr.Sam Surendran and Recess Revo T-shirts. If you are coming, you will also receive a special door gift on that day! You can see all of that in the video below. It's gonna be great so do not miss out on this.
Do invite your friends, teachers, parents and anyone who is interested to know more about Recess Revolution and what God is doing in Penang. See you all there!

STEP IT UP IN MAKING A STATEMENT (of your faith)!

STEP IT UP IN MAKING A STATEMENT (of your faith)!
EACH DAY, do something to proclaim your faith in Jesus! (Bring and "show off" your Bible, read your Bible out loud, wear a Christian T-shirt for extra-curricular activities, put on a cross, etc)
Don't be afraid to make a stand for what (or Who) you believe in-
especially when a treat is made against you.
Sometimes, it is when we're tested (i.e.threatened) that our Stand matters the most!

A Great Opportunity To Share Recess Revo in Alor Setar!

Once again, we had the chance to go into another school CF to share about Recess Revo and this time, it is SMK St.Michael in Alor Setar. We want to thank God for this opportunity to be able to share in this state. We had a great time in this school and we found out that SMK St.Michael was the only school in Alor Setar to have an official CF according to one of their CF teacher advisor, Mr.Joseph Chang. As we entered the school, we prayed that the young people will catch hold of the fire as well. We started with a short ice-breaker to get to know each other as there were 3 newcomers in the CF on that day. After that, we had a time of worship to praise God.
Wilson and Pragas then shared their testimonies about their life before they became a Christian and how God changed them after that. After the sharing, Pragas challenged them if anybody wants to receive Jesus as their God and saviour. Praise God for a boy who responded to that challenge and he was saved on that day. Pragas led him to the sinner's prayer after the CF was over and we got to know him as Jason Yap.

We then shared about Recess Revo to the students of SMK St.Michael and I believe they have caught something out of it. Although there were many of them in the CF who are non-believers, I believe that they can see how God is working through Recess Revo and what the Christians are doing to impact their schools.

After the CF, we managed to get in contact with another school teacher who is Mrs.Peh Lan and we decided to meet up with her as she was excited to hear about Recess Revo. We met up with her at a church building and shared to her everything about Recess Revo. When we were sharing, she was so eager to see her young people in her church and Alor Setar rising up and bringing a change to their schools. She was so excited that she decided to share it to all her youths the next day. It was another open door as we believe they will catch on of the fire and may the fire spread in Alor Setar. She is even taking some of her youths to Penang for the Wildfire Party on the 22nd August. It's great to see their support and we are excited to see a revolution taking place in Alor Setar.

We want to praise God for this trip to Alor Setar as we had the chance to share about Recess Revo. We believe that God will work in this state and the young people will revolutionize their schools for Jesus. May the fire spread and a revolution will begin in Alor Setar.

The Beginning of A Revolution through a meeting between 3 senior pastors and the youth pastors of Youthwave!

Recently, we attended a meeting between the youth pastors who are a part of Youthwave and the senior pastors from 3 different churches in Farlim and Perak Road. They are working together to organize a Youthwave Ministry Training for the youths and young working adults of the 3 churches. Pragas, our executive coordinator was assigned to teach on a certain syllabus regarding to youth ministry. Darren and I had the chance to join in this meeting to listen and learn from what they were discussing as we are heading down to Alor Setar straight after the meeting.

Indeed, we did learn a lot from them and we also had the chance to share about Recess Revo when Pr.Ester asked us about it when she saw our Revolution T-shirts as she had heard about the movement in Penang. So, Pragas shared about what God is doing in this island and how the young people are rising up for God. He also shared about the testimonies of Recess Revo in Malaysia and all the senior pastors were amazed with what God is doing through the young people in this island. They were so encouraged that the young people are impacting their schools and we were also encouraged to see their support towards this movement. They caught hold of the fire and they even called themselves the Revo pastors. They want to see a revolution taking place in this island as well. We were so blessed and encouraged as they prayed for us and the young people that are a part of Recess Revo.

Thank God for the opportunity to share Recess Revo in Ipoh!

I praise God for a friend of mine, Justin who gave us a contact of a youth leader in Ipoh who works among CFs. Through him, we got the chance to meet up with some of the CF leaders in Ipoh. Last Friday, Darren and I headed down to Ipoh to meet up with these leaders. On Saturday afternoon, we met them at 'kopitiam' in Ipoh Parade. We introduced ourselves to all of them who were there and began to share about Recess Revo.

During the meet-up, there were two school leaders who were present. One is from St.Michael Institution (SMI) Ipoh and the other is from SMJK SAM TET School. These young leaders were very excited to see what God is doing in Penang and also in Malaysia. Darren and I then challenged them to kick start Recess Revo in their schools. We also praise God that after the whole presentation was over, we managed to stay back and ministered to one of the CF leaders from SAM TET School.

After the meeting with them ended, we also gave them an option whether they were interested to allow us to stay on and share to their CF on Monday. So again on Monday, we got the privilege to walk into SMI Ipoh to share to the CF members about Recess Revo. After sharing with them, again we praise God that we are able to minister to another student from that school.

I believe in my spirit that they have caught hold of the fire and are eager to see what God can do in their school. According to Samuel, the CF worship director, they will be discussing about this soon during their CF committee meeting and they will get back to us. We pray that SMI Ipoh and SAM TET will be the first school to kick start Recess Revo in Ipoh and other schools in Ipoh will catch the fire soon. We want to thank God for giving us this opportunity to share about Recess Revo to the schools in Ipoh and we hope to hear from them soon. I'm praying that the youths in Ipoh to Show UP, Stand UP & Speak UP for Jesus!

PCGHS for Jesus! It was a blast time for us!‏

It was a blast Friday for the team as we entered Penang Chinese Girls High School (PCGHS)! As usual, the team prayed in the car before stepping into the school and asked God to move mightily and minister to all the girls that we were going to meet. As we were at the school gate, we bumped into the CF vice president, Eunice Ham. I didn’t know she was the vice president until later, and I kept teasing her “Ham, Ham!” as she took us to where we were supposed to meet the CF for the talk.

Wilson started the meeting off with a short icebreaker and we had introduction of ourselves as there were some students who were not from the CF. All of us had fun and we got to know one another better. After that, Darren and I led them into a time of worship. After the worship session, as usual, Darren and I began to share on Recess Revo to all of them. At that morning, we had 20 students and the CF teacher advisor, Mr. Wilson was present too.

I praise God that all of them had caught hold of the fire and they saw that they could impact their friends through Recess Revo. I also thank God for such a wonderful teacher like Mr. Wilson for encouraging the girls and supporting them even in providing finance for CF.

After the whole event was over, Mr. Wilson shared his vision, that as they were having morning prayer near the school hall, he felt in his spirit that all of the girls should just do some random kindness like making a bookmark for their friends and writing down “Jesus loves you” on it and some words of encouragement as their exam period are drawing near. I thank God for teacher that comes along side and support the student in their walk with the Lord! I then prayed for the students and asked God to empower and bless them as they kick start Recess Revo. We finished at around 12.30pm and we went to the school canteen for lunch with Mr. Wilson and Miss Chew.

After lunch, at 2pm, it was our second meeting with the morning session students who stayed back for the Recess Revo talk. There were about 27 students who attended the talk. We did the same programme as we did in the morning, and I praise God for the response from the students which was the same as the students we met in the morning, they had caught hold of the fire too.

Hearing from the CF president, they have already started prayer every morning in school. One of the morning as they were praying at the school front corridor, they were approached by the Buddhist Society’s teacher advisor and they were told not to do this in front of the other students and stop meetings like this. But I praise God for these students as they did not stop praying about Recess Revo, they just relocated to another spot somewhere else and they continued praying for a change to take place in their school. This prayer team started with a small group of about 3 to 4 people, and right now there are 14 of them praying altogether in the morning. I was very excited to hear that these girls are standing in the gap to pray for their school every morning. And she felt that with Recess Revo, they can even do more. They will be kick starting Recess Revo this coming week after identifying a particular day to run it.

Again, we want to praise God for what God is doing in this school even before we came in to share about Recess Revo. I know it’s going to be a blast to see how God moves in PCGHS. All glory to God for this blast Friday!

Recess Revo Updates #4

The month of August is finally here! Many great things took place in the past 6 weeks and we have 21 schools and 1 college that has signed up for Recess Revolution up to date. God is even opening more doors as we were invited to Ipoh during the weekend to share about Recess Revo to 10 school leaders and they caught the fire of Recess Revo. More updates will be coming soon on that.

We want to praise God for Penang Chinese Girls High School which has started Recess Revolution this week and we will also be heading to Alor Setar to share about Recess Revo in the upcoming week. A revolution is not only starting in this island but it is spreading all around and other states are catching the fire as well.

Wildfire@RR P.A.R.T.Y is just 19 more days away so do join us because you wouldn't want to miss this out. Invite your friends, teacher advisers and those who are interested in this movement. It's gonna be a blast on that day itself. There will be a special performance from the band "Point Of Difference" and the dance team "Storm" which performed in the Revolution P.A.R.T.Y last April. "In-Tune" will be leading the worship on that day and there will be a talk-show where there will be representatives from every school and they will share about their testimonies and the things that God is doing in their school.
Besides that, there will be a special message on that day as well. Recess Revolution: Penang merchandises are up for sale and there will be limited edition T-shirts for those who are a part of this movement. It will only be on sale on that day so do not miss it!
You can check out our event page on Facebook here.

The exam period is also here and most of the students will be slowing down on Recess Revolution but do not let go of it. You all can still meet up for prayer and pray for each other before sitting for your examinations and you can pray for your friends who are in need of prayer as well. Remember, Jesus did not slow down on the way to the cross and we shouldn't let this slow us down as well. Let's study hard and stay focus at the same time! Keep up the good work that you all are doing and let's continue to impact this island for Jesus!
